The shopping streets in Arnhem hide around 36 centuries-old cellars, restored to their old glory and connected with each other in 2001. Displayed Arnhem finds, information panels and surprises which stimulate your senses take you on a chronological journey through time so you can experience Arnhem history. The cellars regularly serve as a backdrop to a wide range of exhibitions or they are home to activities part of a wide variety of town events. The Historische Kelders (Historic Cellars) are open Tuesday to Saturday inclusive and during Sunday trading, 12 a.m. – 5 p.m. Stichting Gilde Stadswandeling organises guided tours of these cellars throughout the year. You can join them on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday afternoons at 2 p.m. (no booking required) or make an appointment for an alternative time or day (minimum 5 persons). Price: adult € 5, child € 3.50. Admission: adults € 4, children under 4 free of charge and 4 to 12-year-olds € 2.50. Very limited wheelchair access. Tickets to the Historische Kelders are also available from the VVV Tourist Information Centre Arnhem.
