Our story
,,We are Bianca Visser and Herman van Gellecum, (business) partners and proud owners of De Buitenpoort, the multifunctional partypalace in the center of Huissen. We had been thinking about starting a new business for some time, partly at the initiative of a good friend of ours. This place seemed very suitable for our small but nice beachclub. There is a lot of space here, it is green and it is also beautifully situated on the water. Huissen can be proud of this natural pool.
Especially through the tireless and passionate help of a number of local top companies, we succeeded in realizing our beachclub. BUITEN! (Dutch for 'outside') opened June 9, 2019, in the middle of summer. The first (half) season was as intensive as it was great. We look forward to working with our team and all visitors to experience an even better and more beautiful new and especially full season. Hope to see you again!''

Yes, we have draft beer! Two kinds; the premium lager Hertog Jan -in those stylish and slender glasses- and a changing seasonal beer, now that is the tasty Leffe Blond. Beers (also the various other types in the bottle, such as those fantastic Franziskaner Weizen) are at BUITEN! can be ordered indoors, just like all other beverages by the way ;-) You can only pay with a pin or cashless card. Because for our safety and yours we do not work with cash. Thank you for your understanding!
Open?
With 21 degrees Celsius and higher and preferably a sun, open during the season (April-October). But yes, we do live in the Netherlands. In other words, doubtful weather ;-) So you want to go OUTSIDE! first check this site, or Insta or Facebook. Follow us on this site and the socials and always be informed! Speaking of time, we usually open around 11 a.m. and close at 10 p.m.
The family business Heijting from Huissen owns the so-called Zwanewater, the swimming lake that BUITEN !. It is also popularly called Zwanebad, referring to the town coat of arms of Huissen, on which a swan is displayed. The quality of the water, which is located in the Huissensche Waarden between Looveerweg and Nederrijn, has been one of the top 3 natural baths in Gelderland for many years. On Zwemwater.nl, a joint site of all bodies that manage the water, it is stated that the quality has been classified in the highest of the five classes in recent years: excellent.
Incidentally, there are some prohibitions imposed by the authorities on the area where BUITEN! part of it. You can read it on the sign at the entrance. Among other things that dogs are not allowed. This also applies BUITEN! We risk a fine otherwise. Thank you for your understanding.
Party? BUITEN!
Your personal hotspot that you want to share! For every occasion, we have plenty of ideas and we have already realized quite a lot. Our suggestions: Celebrate your birthday with family and friends at the water's edge. Turn your girls day out into a cava brunch with the sun on your faces. Do not hold that meeting with your colleagues in the office, but via a power breakfast with the wind blowing through your creative brains.
Drinks with your mates with a bucket of Coronas and bitterballen (typically Dutch snack) with the feet in the sand. And what about an Ibiza-style wedding, a luxurious lunch with business relation or an evening business party including a barbecue? Do you have an idea yourself? A lot can be done! Call us or mail us (info@buiten.info). Or feel free to speak to us or one of the employees of Team BUITEN! We / They will gladly help you further.
Active?
Except that you take your rest at BUITEN! there is also plenty to see and experience. And even to be active. For example, on our brand new jeu de boules courts. You gotta have balls for that ;-) Ask at the bar for the possibilities.
You can end the week nicely during our After Work Party, called BUITEN!werktijd. With DJ Kinki Sminki, who lets you slide into the weekend with your feet in the sand with relaxed and summery tunes (with or without vinyl)!
You can feel your muscles with Bootcamp and with Yoga. If you want to challenge your body in this way, check our site for dates and times.
On irregular days and times you can enjoy easy listening live singing with us, sometimes accompanied with acoustic guitar.
